Wholeheartedness
Wholeheartedness is a tricky phenomenon isn’t it
Its not much good being wholehearted if you are totally committed to the wrong course. Jesus tells the story of a man who finds treasure in a field and a merchant who finds a superb pearl. Both of the men sell all they have to get hold of these valuable discoveries. Their commitment is complete but if they had been wrong about the treasure of the pearl it would have been for nothing. I suppose what matters in is both the attitude of the purchasers and what they seek to get hold of. It’s real treasure - not an illusion - and so it matters how you live but it also matters what you live for.
